Programs

We offer a wide variety of programming for our discerning listeners.

Music – The majority of our programming is Music. Quality music is selected with the more serious listeners in mind. We play a variety of styles so that our music program is always fresh sounding. Styles include classical, easy listening, jazz (older and modern styles), inspirational, nostalgia, ballad, country, pop, dance, etc.

 
** Classical Music – Every day at the lunch hour from 12:00 – 13:00 and then at the dinner hour beginning at 19:00 you can hear classical music from many of the great composers and from a variety of performers. Hosted by Natasha.

Jazz programs – “Sunday Blues” is offered every Sunday from 17:00 - 18:00. An hour of Jazz, from standard to modern, is offered with very little interruption except to inform you of the musicians. Of course, every day jazz is included in our musical programs in half-hour segments throughout the day and night.  Let us jazz up your life.

News – Monday through Saturday.  Offered on the hour, 9 to 11 a.m., 1-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Russian. International, CIS and local news items are included. 5 PM news from Central Asia in English.

** Cultural news – What is happening around Bishkek in the Arts. This is offered four times a day in Russian and once/day in Kyrgyz. 

Phrasebook – Conversational dialogues are taught using practical themes that can be applied to your life. The dialogues are presented in three parts. First, the entire dialogue in English is spoken at a natural pace. Second, the dialogue is repeated in phrases that are then translated into Russian. Finally, the dialogue is repeated in only English one phrase at a time and a pause after each phrase to allow you to repeat it.

** Focus on the Family:
Weekly “Focus on the Family” program on Tuesday 9:05 AM and repeated on Friday 8:30 PM, offers advice on relationships, marriage, family, raising children, etc. These programs feature Dr. James Dobson, a psychologist from the U.S.A.
English Commentary is 90 seconds of advice on a variety of subjects, offered twice a day, Monday thru Friday, at approximately 1:07 PM and 5:07 PM, in the English language.
Russian Commentary is 2 minutes of advice on a variety of subjects, offered twice a day Monday thru Friday, 2:07 PM and in the evenings after 8 PM following the classical hour, in the Russian language.

** Accents on English – An English show all in the English language.  Featuring native English speakers.  Covering: international news of the day, cultural news, interesting topics, commentary,  Manas Airbase information, interviews and call-in segments.   CURRENTLY ON SABBATICAL
